Marlene Shores Art Studio – Frith Art

Marlene brings gourds to life through intricate carving, painting, dyes, and other embellishments. In her quest for inspiration, she took pen to paper, giving birth to “Inzentaion” (in Zen you imagine). Marlene will be giving live demonstrations of her work during the festival.

This vibrant space is lovingly nurtured by our students and PiPS staff, featuring a flourishing organic food garden where kids get hands-on experience from sowing seeds to saving them. We embrace no-dig principles to focus on soil health and biodiversity.

🌼 Visit Coastal Cups, our school coffee shop, open from 9 AM to 12 PM daily, for delicious coffee and smoothies. Our kaimanawa (learners) are excited to share their garden and art with you! During school hours, they’ll be your guides, showing off their hard work and sharing stories. Outside school hours, you can follow QR codes to explore their gardening adventures and upcoming projects.

Come along and see how our kids are growing their world—one plant at a time! 🌸

Bring your togs and a towel, jump in the sauna, cool off with a refreshing dip, or take a swim in the harbour!

We’ve got delicious food on-site, live music, talks, workshops, and sooooo much more! 🥰

Bloom in the Bay is just $5 at the gate. Parking in the CBD is free, and children under 14 get in for free too! If you have a Festival Pass, you can come and go from Bloom as much as you like.

Looking for a family-friendly activity tomorrow? Want to experience and learn more about our natural world, from the tiniest critters to our national icon, the Kiwi? 🌿🦋

Join @forestandbird_tauranga and their Kiwi Conservation Club for a fun taster session of their Kiwi Conservation Club trips at their workshop at Bloom in the Bay at 10am on Saturday!

We’ll be playing a Kiwi-themed Amazing Race, exploring the festival, making seed balls, finding bugs for Kiwi, trapping rats, and much more!

Bloom in the Bay is FREE for under-14s and Bay of Plenty Garden and Art Festival pass holders! For the general public, tickets are just $5 at the gate.
