Bay of Plenty Garden and Art Festival

Bloom in the Bay

Forest & Bird’s Kiwi Conservation Club

Kate Graeme and Liesel Carnie

Kate Graeme from Tauranga comes from a family deeply committed to conservation, her mother Ann led the Kiwi Conservation Club for over 20 years. Now as the new president of Forest & Bird Kate believes that “young nature lovers are our future conservationists, and it fills me with hope seeing the rise of Forest & Bird Youth.”

At this year’s festival Kate and Kiwi Conservation Club team leader Liesel Carnie will give you a taste of one of our Kiwi Conservation Club adventures that you can do with all the family. We will explore Aotearoa’s unique natural world including the weird and wonderful Kiwi – Why are kiwi so pungent?  Does it matter?
