Place holds profound significance for us, shaping and connecting individuals, families/whanau, and communities alike. Its loss, whether tangible like a possession, a home, or a loved one, or intangible like a sense of community, is immeasurable, impacting us all in the short and long term. In the face of such loss, the need for resilience becomes essential, albeit often unwelcome. My work reflects this. I completed my MVA in 2020 at Otago Ceramic School, where my work has been described as conversation starters, laden with metaphors and layers that delve into the essence of ourselves.
